Application for Permanent Residence
Foreigners applying for permanent residence in China shall abide by the Chinese laws, be healthy, and have no record of criminal offenses.
If you want to have the permanent residence in China, you need to reside in China for at least five years, and in each year, you need to stay in China for at least nine months with stable personal income and lodging.
If you wife or husband from a foreign country wants to join you in China, the documentation that he or she needs to produce includes: valid passport, the Health Certificate issued by China’s designated health and quarantine unit or by a foreign health and medical institution recognized by Chinese embassies or consulates in other countries, Certificate of No Criminal Offenses recognized by Chinese embassies or consulates in other countries, four 2-inch photos, marital status certificate, Life Guarantee Certificate or Lodging Property Ownership Certificate that has been notarized.
